Ristorante Davide in Cologne

Where do I start, the food was delicious, the quality was an absolute dream. The staff was really friendly and they did almost everything humanly possible to give a feeling of security in times of Corona and yet the restaurant still has a lot of flair. I can only recommend Davide!

It was a perfect evening! The food is delicious, the atmosphere is great and the service is unique. We felt very comfortable and that's why we're really looking forward to seeing you again at the end of October!

The food here is fabulous. The attention to detail and the quality of each dish is outstanding. Davide is clearly very passionate about the food and his enthusiasm is infectious. All of the staff are very attentive and helpful and the whole evening is an experience rather than just a meal. They want you to enjoy every single moment and mouthful. This isn’t a quick meal, allow about 2 hours as they explain all of the dishes and then prepare to perfection. We have eaten all over the world and this was the best steak we have ever tasted and the pasta was fantastic too. If we’d stayed in Cologne longer we would’ve gone back for another meal. Highly recommend.

If 6 stars was an option, this place deserves it. Outstanding! Lovely people providing lovely service. The atmosphere is next level and food is some of the best I have ever tasted! 15/10

Authentic Italian hospitality with excellent food. We were delighted after our first visit, the owner and staff are very accommodating.

The food was very good and the condition very friendly. We were told a lot about the food and it was (although the shop is not necessarily a casual bistro :)) very cozy and informal. Would love to come back.

Really love this family-owned Italian treasure. Menu changes every four weeks. Exceptional quality and very creative menu. We spent over 2 hours here and had a great experience. If you’re in a hurry this is not the place for you. But that’s the beauty of a place like this. The meal, the wine, the time spent together... that’s why we came.

Really recommended! Selected menu and spicy food. Very friendly and dedicated staff. It was delicious, cozy and fun. We spontaneously got a table for 3 people. Probably because we were there early. It is better to call ahead.

The restaurant was well attended in the evening, but still took time for us. Especially recommend the dishes on the daily menu. They all looked homemade and tasted like that.

Food is OK but not spectacular

I want to give Davide 5 stars. We have visited 4 times (we live in the neighborhood). I want to visit more. The food is good, but unfortunately, the service has been off each visit. The most recent time, my meal arrived 10 minutes before my wife’s meal. I either had to let my meal get cold, or eat before her. I was finished before her food arrived. We were told the kitchen only speaks Italian and there was miscommunication. Our two previous visits, there were also order or timing problems. Again, the food is good (my favorite was a trio of carpaccio, lovely), but it’s hard to enjoy when the service is inconsistent.

Have been lucky as the card is not online. Atmosphere in the small restaurant is quite comfortable and quite affectionate with small quirks. The menu is somewhat adventurously cobbled together on partially handwritten notes and includes authentic Italian dishes. The food is artisan well prepared and really delicious and comes quickly served. However, the price level is unacceptable. Main course for 30 € we saw here unfortunately not justified on ... 30% cheaper would be adequate. Unfortunately that does not make up for the nice staff. Apart from that, however, it is recommended.
